Hi, I’m Shrey.

My background is actually in IT. That’s what I studied, what I have a degree in, and what I thought my career would look like.

But photography kept pulling me back. Not as a side hobby or something to do on weekends, it genuinely felt like the thing I was supposed to be doing. So eventually, I stopped ignoring that and just went for it.

That was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I built Shrey Patel Photography completely from scratch — no shortcuts, no connections, just a camera and a lot of belief that the work would speak for itself. And slowly, it did.

I’ve built my work almost entirely around South Asian and multicultural weddings, and honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else. These celebrations are unlike anything else, multi-day events, deeply layered traditions, a hundred things happening at once, and in the middle of all of it, these quiet, fleeting moments that mean everything. A mother straightening her son’s sehra. A bride taking a breath before the pheras begin. The exact second the baraat energy hits the room.

Those are the moments I show up for.

I cover everything from the Mehndi and Sangeet to the Baraat, ceremony, and Vidaai — and because I’ve done this many times, I already understand the flow. I’m not figuring things out on your wedding day. I know where to be, and I know when.

My style tends to be cinematic and editorial, but never stiff or overly posed. I want your photos to actually look like you, just on the best day of your life.

And on a more practical note: I’m pretty easy to work with. I’m calm when things get hectic, I communicate clearly, and I take the logistical stuff seriously so you don’t have to think about it.
